Due to recent violent events in American schools, bullying is no longer considered a "harmless part of growing up." Rather, parents, psychologists, school personnel, and policy makers have become increasingly aware of the severity of bullying in our schools today.  The need for a safe, non-threatening learning environment has never been more evident.
